BYSTS is an American alternative rock band, formed between Los Angeles, CA, and Salt Lake City, UT in 2017 by singer-guitarist Bryan Holbrook and singer-bassist Stefanie Marlow and joined later for live performances by drummer Shane Ashbridge. BYSTS music has been described as a blend of Chromatics, Massive Attack, and the Jesus & Mary Chain.

Following their debut singles 2017, BYSTS were asked to headline Canadian Music Week in Toronto for their first live show. Receiving favorable write-ups in France’s Le Libération, Northern Transmissions, Fourculture, Indonesia’s MAVE Magz, and Switzerland’s Artnoir, BYSTS quickly created a loyal international fanbase bringing them to the attention of New York indie label The Rolling People which promptly turned into a deal to release BYSTS debut album Offer Your Throat in 2018.
BYSTS follow-up release of the EP “Dreamland”, filled with sonic pleasures and an unforgettable sexual stomp was later listed in Ghettoblaster as one of the best releases of 2019.
BYSTS dark, high-energy shows in Los Angeles and Las Vegas became legendary and soon were requested to play Hollywood’s infamous goth club, Cloak & Dagger, co-owned by She Wants Revenge’s Adam Bravin and renowned record producer Michael Patterson.
BYSTS second full-length album PALACE, recorded and released in November 2021 by the Los Angeles label Pleasure From Beyond was called one of the best albums of the year and later picked up by larger tastemaker Portland record label Little Cloud Records and UK label Acid Test Records for international distribution.
BYSTS, currently are writing and working on their third album expected to debut in 2025.
Bryan and Stefanie have performed with Autolux, Black Angels, Black Lips, Mini Mansions, Ben Kweller, Dead Meadow, Spindrift, Strange Boys, Swervedriver, The Growlers.
